🫁 Breath Prayer
Slowly breathe these words of prayer…
INHALE: In This World, In My Life
EXHALE: Let Your Kingdom Come
📖 Lectio Divina
Read these words slowly, listening for a personal word fro the Spirit of God.
Matthew 6v9-10
This then is how you should pray…
Our Father in Heaven
Hallowed Be Your Name
Your Kingdom Come…
Matthew 28v10
Then Jesus said to them,
Do not be afraid.
Go and tell my brothers
to go to Galilee.
There they will see me.
🖼️ Reflection
After rising from the dead,
Jesus takes no interest
in bringing reform or destruction
to the Roman Empire.
Upon resurrection
Jesus does not spend
a minute of time
seeking to change
or confront
a corrupt Temple System.
Where does Jesus go instead?
Galilee.
Plain, ordinary,
culturally insignificant Galilee…
where blue collar fishermen
and local village peasants
go about their daily lives…
What is this Kingdom of God
Jesus taught us to seek?
What does it mean to pray
let your kingdom come?
🧘♀️ Two Prayer Prompts
When we pray for God’s present and not yet Kingdom to arrive, the gospels seem to suggest we need to pray for a greater imagination of what it looks like when God is in power.
Take pause to pray. Take pause to imagine:
If God were to reign in your heart on this Monday morning, how might that change the way you show up to your appointments, tasks, and recreational activities?
Take pause to pray. Take pause to ponder:
What if God’s Kingdom is more concerned about life in your “village” moreso than the outcomes of geopolitical elections and large denominational gatherings?
💡 Quotes
Here is the world. Beautiful and terrible things will happen. Don't be afraid.

🕊️ Prayer for God’s Kingdom to Arrive
LORD God. Your Kingdom and Power are unlike what we have known. You taught us the Kingdom belongs to meek peacemakers who are poor in spirit, not those who carry man made titles of importance and high wages. Bring us low, to the places of gratitude, humility, and a deep insatiable hunger for righteousness. While we may not always know what it looks like for your Kingdom to arrive, may our hearts desire to please you and to live in union with you. Come Holy Spirit. Let the Kingdom of God reign in our world.
Through Christ our LORD,
Amen
